Question:

I am new to the WFPB way of eating and come with ingrained ideas of carbs especially grains are bad… how can I stop fearing grains?

— Kim Cordner

Answer:

Okay, so you're the boss of yourself. All right? Your body's gonna tell you whether it likes grains or not. No, not mean no class, no nothing, right? So try some grains. I would try some of the ancient grains. I would try quinoa. I would try the buck weed. I would try try them out one at a time. And if your body says no, then Kim, the answer is not this one. But you have about 20 to choose from. Um, and again, it's really hard to get the amount of fiber that you need. I know this whole foods plant-based way of eating, you're gonna get a lot more than the standard American diet. Um, but you know, each food group brings with it its own unique complement of phytonutrients and nutrients. So I would say take one baby step at a time, right? Just try one. See how your body feels and go from there.
