Question:

What are the best grains to offer a one year old child?

— Nicholas Francis

Answer:

Do not do not do rice. Now that we know there's a ton of arsenic and rice, I would not do, um, rice, I would actually do that later on. I would par boil it. Um, but there are a lot of other, um, grains that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends and I wrote that down. So millet, oats, barley, rye, wheat. So what you wanna do is really start with one, see how he or she does, and then introduce another grain maybe two to three weeks later if, if it all went well there. So my only caution there would be to, um, don't offer rice while he is, she or he is still growing and to really don't be afraid of offering whole grains because that used to be a thing way back. But that's been debunked. Um, little kids' bellies, I mean you were talking tiny amounts, um, with when they start to eat. So you don't have to, um, worry that they're gonna get too gassy. But again, your ba your child will let you know
