Is there a good way to make a vegan butter without oil to use on Ezekiel bread?

Answer:

So as I mentioned earlier, the first thing you have to do is toast it. And I find that the more that it's toasted the B pardon me, the better that it, uh, tastes. So here's what I say to people. Um, there will never be anything like butter, and it's as simple as that. And, uh, as we make changes, we embrace new ways to prepare food. So I did give you the recipe for the Rouxbe butter, which is very, very good and has some wonderful ingredients in it, in it, including a small amount of cashews. And what I'm going to say about that recipe is that the initial recipe makes four cups. So rather than engage in the expense of buying all the ingredients, half the recipe and see if you like it. And then if you like it, then you know, the next time you make it, you'll have much more to deal with. I'll tell you what Dr. Essel does, uh, with his toast, he puts a jam or a, uh, fruit conserve on it. And, uh, that's just how, uh, he eats his, uh, his toast. And that's what I do. Sometimes I will use a nut butter and then I will roll out, uh, two pitted dates and I will put those dates on the nut butter and I will use that as, um, something that's spreadable. But, uh, any kind of, um, faux butter that is on the market that claims itself as being vegan. And by the way, we, many of us grew up with the word margarine, but not all margarines are vegan. So you should be careful of that if you are using those in your diet. I'm gonna say this, just don't do it and make that, make that butter, um, that that is in on our website and try some nut butters. And I also wanted to just show you that this is a great nut butter and it's, uh, become a family favorite. This one is unsalted super chunky. It's by Teddy's. Teddy's is a family owned nut butter company in Worcester, Massachusetts. And it comes in a glass jar unless you buy it at one of the big box stores where it comes in a plastic jar, which I kind of don't like. And, um, this is an old school butter knife and you can see the little holes in it. And I use this to churn the peanut butter so that it becomes creamy and delicious. And just to kind of go down the road a tablespoon of a, of an zottz butter, like, I dunno, if think of a brand, uh, has no nutrients in it, so to speak, compare it to the same amount of calories. And I believe the same amount of fat grams, which is nine, is, um, this thing is packed with all kinds of vitamins and it's got eight grams of protein in it. So for people who come up to you because they're worried about your protein consumption when you are a vegan and say, oh my God, but where do you get your protein? A tablespoon of this will do the trick. Actually, two tablespoons. So lucky you on that one. So Teddy's has a great peanut butter. Unsalted, chunky comes smooth, and they have one that has flax in it. Uh, the one that has flax in it, I believe has salt in it. But, uh, it's a great peanut butter. So that would be my suggestion. Try the butter and then look at some other nut butters or my other favorite, which is hummus. I often say that hummus is the new mayo, but it's also the new butter. So there you have it and toasting that bread will also be another good, uh, trick for you.
