Question:
Why would you choose to steam vegetables over simmering or boiling?
— Sarah Harbin
Answer:
So just different methods steaming, you know can really keep a lot of the flavor and texture to them where boiling you're going to get a lot of the nutrients. It will actually go out into the The water so if you're boiling something like I don't know like asparagus you'll see your water is actually kind of green afterward. Or simmering you're going to get like a little bit of a charred Edge down the edge of it too. So it's gonna add a different kind of texture. So steaming will keep it kind of in its closer to the original state. I guess simmering will give you just kind of a little bit of char on it just and it could be a very slight versus boiling will be close to the steam, but it's gonna dissipate some of the flavor in the nutrients of the water.
